Find a Lawyer
If you are looking for a lawyer to help you in a claim involving a drunk driver, we can help. We will find a lawyer who meets these seven standards.
- The highest ethical ratings. We will find a lawyer who has earned a “V” rating for “Very High General Ethical Standards” from the leading lawyer rating service in the United States, The Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory.
- The highest peer ratings for legal ability. The Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory rates lawyers with an “A”, “B”, or “rated” classification based on reviews from other lawyers. We will find a lawyer to help you who has earned an “A” rating. This “legal ability” rating includes considerations of legal knowledge, analytical capabilities, judgment, communication ability and legal experience.
- Significant experience representing injured parties. We will find a lawyer who is a member of the state association of the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America) the nation’s leading organization of lawyers who devote a significant part of their practice to representing injured parties.
- The ability to try a case if necessary. We will find a lawyer who is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. (Membership can never be more than 1% of the lawyer population of any state.) Fellows are experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Even though many cases settle out of court, the best settlements come where the lawyer is prepared to go to trial if necessary.
- A pledge not to represent drunk drivers. We will recommend only lawyers who pledge that they do not also represent drunk drivers.
- An agreement to work on a contingency fee. We will find a lawyer who will agree to work for you on a contingency fee, where no legal fee is charged unless a recovery is made. (Some states require that you remain responsible for any litigation costs.)
- We will stay involved and monitor all legal work. We are licensed to practice in Washington and Oregon. If your case arose in Washington or Oregon, we can represent you ourselves. In any other state we typically find an appropriate lawyer and team up with that lawyer to get the help you need, receiving a part of the contingent fee commensurate with the work we perform.
In some locations not all seven standards can be met, so we will either find a lawyer who closely meets these standards or recommend that you be represented by a lawyer from a nearby area.
